When I paint letters i imagine as if they are being carved. They are imbued with importance and personality of the client/situation, i like to think i give the sign a human energy, an aura that radiates it's message with love and dedication.

" 3.INSIGHT: you will never see good letters coming  from your hand until you have learned to see good letters in your head. Good work depends on clear mental images. Clear images are based on knowledge of causes of the things imagined. Knowledge comes from intelligent practice. When practice has given the artist a clear image of what he has to do, he has insight into his art.  "     Title, The Elements of Lettering. Authors, John Howard Benson, Arthur Graham Carey.
